About Marney

Marney Rich Keenan is a journalist whose work spans four decades, including twenty-six years as an award-winning reporter and columnist for The Detroit News.

"The Snow Killings: Inside the Oakland County Child Killer Investigation" is Marney's first book. It is published by McFarland Books.

In October, 2009 Marney broke the story in The Detroit News on the most promising lead in the case in the previous three decades.

Thereafter she reported on new developments in the case. Over the last ten years, she has conducted hundreds of interviews, poured over thousands of pages of police files, personal emails, news clippings and viewed old T.V. footage. She has long-standing relationships with all four of the victims’ families and has conducted extensive interviews over the years with principal figures in the many law enforcement agencies involved in this case: the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office, the Michigan State Police, the FBI, as well as the heads of local police departments in Oakland County. She has been too many rabbit holes to count and dead ends, too. This book is the first and only comprehensive account of what happened inside the OCCK investigation.
